My Inexpensive Ribbon&Stickle Storage Solutions

Hey Scrappers, so here are my storage that I created for my scraproom. The first one is simply a $1 clipboard that I painted and added Velcro adhesive backed strips, when I first added the strips I didn't use my larger and longer bottles of Studio G and Michael's brand glitter glue, so unfortunately I had to remove the strips which caused the paint and wood from the clipboard to come up. My suggestion if you are going to make this is to measure the length ( unless you have longer or larger bottles than the ones I have 3-1/2 inches between the strips should be plenty). I suggest using a heavy duty strength Velcro as well since the bottles can get heavy. For the Stickle and Michael's small bottles (the standard size clipboard) you can have 8 bottles across (as you can see I don't have many bottles right now).
For the ribbon storage, I used a pants hanger for the first one, the other two are metal hangers (not the traditional wire ones) they have some weight to them. I got an over the door hook for the closet to hand them all on. I also have some "S" hooks that I used to link all the hangers together. Everything you see was purchased at my dollar store. The most expensive was the pants hanger that was $1.49! I previously purchased another pants hanger at a discount store for $5.99 which is a lot fancier with the cushion on each bar, but it didn't work well for the ribbon spools that had smaller holes. Therefore, I plan to use the more expensive one for my dress pants LOL. For my loose ribbons, I recycled a "Wheat Thins" box from Costco cutting it up and wrapping my lace & ribbons (I also used the cropper hopper things I got from my friend Bev a long time ago) around it and securing it with a stick pin. I will make a video explaining how I did everything. I don't have a ton of ribbons,laces and trims so this is the ideal organization solution for me. Hey Scrappers, so since I have gotten my very own scraproom now, I am on a mission to find INEXPENSIVE storage and organizational ideas to help me create the kind of room that will make me happy, but not break the bank. So, from time to time, I will be posting images of scraproom ideas that are both inexpensive and don't take up a lot of room. I know for me even now that I have my own room, it isn't a big one, therefore I need to maximize the space I have. I want my happy place to be convenient, comfortable, functional and inspiring. If there is anything you want to see, such as inexpensive flower storage for example, leave me a comment and I will try my best to find some things to help you out. If you also know of some inexpensive storage or organizational ideas please don't keep it to yourself....sharing is caring! hehehe. Hey Everyone, first let me say WOOHOO....SO PROUD OF MY SUPERBOWL CHAMPION NY GIANTS!!!!!

Ok....now on to scrappin' hehehe. I order a few Tim Holtz dies that I was longing for and wasn't able to get until now! I got The Hanging Sign, The Birdcage,The Sewing Room,The Ticket and Tattered Florals. I also got the Tim Holtz ruler & distressor. I could not wait to use my dies and I knew that The Hanging Sign would be the first one because I had an idea to use it on the cover of the "Love" mini album I am currently working on. I want to share a sneak peek of the cover, which I think is very romantic and sexy ;)....but that's just me LOL. So, I am hoping to finish it this week, there will be a few pics but we need to take some since we haven't taken any since 2009 LOL. I'M A COLLEGE GRAD!!!

Hey Peeps, I am extremely happy to tell you that I have complete school and passed ALL my classes!!! Yes, even the dreaded College Math with a "D", never been so happy to receive a "D" in my life LOL. Anyway, I am hoping to have lots of new projects to share and possibly a couple of swaps as well. What's next for me now is to find a decent job in this tough job market, but I have faith that God will make that happen in due time.

So what did I do the day after my classes were DONE? Welll...I did find these adorable glass heart-shaped candy dishes from my local discount store, so what did I do? Alter them of course! Take a look....

I filled them with my vintage buttons and the other with bling sprays and such. I need to see my goodies so I don't hoard them LOL. So, I hope to have more projects to share soon. Let me know what ya think and thanks for stopping by, come again!!!!

Hey Scrappy Peeps, so its finally here, my very last day of school! Come on...do the happy dance with me! Hahahaha
Today I have my Accounting final, yesterday, I had College Math, Psychosocial and Psychology! All went well EXCEPT the dreaded Math!!! I just DON'T get it! I am just hoping the professor will see I did the best I could and just pass me so I don't have to take the class again.
So, now that I am at the end, that means I will have time to do fun stuff like create and update my blog and such! I wanted to start cutting into those paper pads I showed in my "2012 Challenge" video. Since Valentine's Day is approaching, I think I might do something for that, although my honey and I don't celebrate it, it will be fun to do a cute something girly LOL.

Hey Everyone, I want to say thank you for everyone who prayed for my son's safety, when he was MIA for 3 days. He is 18 years old, and doesn't live with me anymore, but when I heard he hadn't been seen or heard from in 3 days, I became extremely worried. It wasn't like him to do something like that, but anyway young people sometimes don't think how their actions effect everyone who cares about them. I think he's learned his lesson. My New Year Challenge!

Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! First I would like to thank Kathyrn, Laura and Carol & Barrie for an AMAZING show on New Year's Eve!
As for me, this month of January will be a stressful one, because its my last month of school. I am praying that I pass every class so I do not have to take another semester. I have created a few things and will be sharing them soon. When I was reorganizing my little scrap area, I realized that I have several paper pads that I have not cut into yet. So, my challenge for the new year is to not buy anymore paper until I have begun to use the collections that I have.
Here is the video slide show I uploaded showing the papers I have yet to crack open! I know I am not the only hoarder of paper, so come join me on my challenge. Just make a video response, leave a link to your blog, Facebook,etc. with the papers you are hoarding and projects you complete with them! December Daily Day 25

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope Santa was good to you this year! I have to say that Tai & I haven't exchanged gifts since our first Christmas together (2008). We decided not to get caught up in all the material things and just concentrate on what it's really about, being together! Though I have to confess last year and this year, I cheated a little hehehe. I got him two Stephen King novels, this year ( one titled Insomnia, as a joke because he doesn't sleep hahaha) As you can see, he wouldn't let me take a picture of his face....maybe because he just woke up? LOL. I got them both at the thrift store for a total of $3, so I didn't break the rules too bad. I just feel that in my past relationships, the focus was always on material things and never on spending quality time! It's the greatest gift Tai could ever give me... his time! Something that I lacked in the past, so I cherish our time together not only during the holidays, but everyday!

I did however get two gifts from friends that I appreciate so very much. My classmate Kennedy gave me a beautiful glass candy dish (that I put Anna's beautiful handmade flowers & molds in) and Anna sent me some scrap goodies! I was so touched by the generosity and kindness from them both. Merry Christmas to you all, Stay forever blessed! P.S. Like my Christmas socks? I buy a pair every year! hehehe

December Daily Day 24

December Daily Day 24: Christmas Eve! Tai and I spent the day cooking Christmas dinner. The menu was Turkey, Stuffing, String Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Lasagna (Tai's Yummylicious Best Dish) I baked cookies, so we didn't make a dessert. While everything was in the oven, we watched the Giants vs Jets game (woohoo Giants won!!) and I did Tai's hair(a tough job but someones gotta do it!). Our Christmas is always simple, fun and relaxing! I just love spending time with him laughing, talking and cooking with him, I cannot explain how happy it makes me just to be in his presence! December Daily Day 23: My last day of school, then on to my mini break! My professors were nice enough not to keep us all day, so I was home by 2pm! I came home and stopped by the grocery store to pick up the last few items for Christmas Dinner (like the turkey!). While I was walking home I snapped a picture of a house on the way home all lit up for Christmas! I just love all the decorating, but what I love the most is the spirit of not giving of material things but of yourself, love for your family&friends!

December Daily Day 20 & 21: My sick day! :( I had a horrible headache on Tuesday night and woke up Wednesday morning with nausea and lightheaded to add to the migraine. I was sensitive to light and sound. My day consisted of laying on the sofa with all the lights off and sound on the t.v. down very low. It took some soup, saltines, green tea and a couple of Aleve and a long nap to get me back to normal the next day!

December Daily Day 19: Today I just came home from my externship and made some yummy Chex Mix! I used both peanut butter and chocolate! Three different Chex Mix, Chocolate, Honey Nut and Rice. What I didn't realize was just how much I made! Oh well, can you say..... leftovers! hahaha

December Daily Day 17 and 18: I finished altering all the records I am giving my friends for Christmas. The only one with a picture is for my friend Tanya, who loss her dad in 2009. I know she will cherish it! I loved making these altered records, I got them from my thrift store for cheap and used everything from my stash to create them. December Daily Day 16: Happy Mail from Anna! I skyped with Anna a week ago and I showed her my little button drawer and she hysterically laughed out loud because it was so pitiful LOL. So she ordered me some beautiful ones from an Etsy shop and I received them today! I was so happy to received them though I told her as soon as I was able she was in trouble. A package will be coming her way! Thanks girlfriend, I appreciate you so very much for being so thoughtful and generous!

Day 15 of December Daily, I gave one of my professors her gift, which was an altered frame! She loved it! I was suppose to snap a picture of her while she was opening it so I could capture her expression, but I forgot because we were busy chatting LOL. By the time I remembered the picture, it was time for my next class to start, so I quickly snapped a picture of her with the gift bag instead. I made an altered box for another former professor, but she must have been absent because I couldn't find her. I included a picture of it once I give it to her! Day 14 of my December Daily, I decided after my externship, that I would get off the train at Rockefeller Center to take some pictures of the beautiful decorations and of course the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. It was a nice mild night and though it was a bit crowded, I am sure if it was the weekend it would be a lot worse! I just love New York and there is nothing better than enjoying the decorations. The ice skating rink was being cleaned by the Zamboni machine but before that there was a proposal, unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the couple because it was so crowded and I was too short to get a decent shot! Hey Everyone, so sorry for slacking on my December Daily updates, its been crazy with holidays approaching fast, midterm exams and me trying to make gifts and mail them out before Christmas is too much.

My day 12 was a typical day at my externship, afterwards I stopped by Michael's Craft Store and picked up those clear ornaments to alter and some other clearance Christmas sprays. I also worked on the 12x12 Envelopes that Anna gave me the link to, so easy and cute ladies if you are looking for quick or alternative card making!

My day 13 I just finished decorating my ornaments and making the 12x12 Envelopes! I love how they all turned out!

December Daily Day 10 and 11

The weekends are pretty calm and relaxing for me. I usually get up early, make some coffee and on occasion treat myself to a huge muffin (from Costco). I enjoy my breakfast while watching the latest Youtube videos! what a great way to start my day! So, as you see in the picture, this is basically what I did most of the day. Later that afternoon until the late evening I Skyped and Scrapped with my girl Anna Fallas (which I had my boyfriend to snap a picture ). We had a great time chatting, scrapping and laughing out loud....GOOD TIMES!

On Sunday, I cooked dinner (turkey meatloaf, mash potatoes & corn muffins....forgot to take a pic when it was all done). I sat on the couch and read the Sunday paper, watched t.v. and just relaxed! I had some fun playing with the special effects on Picnik, not sure if I will print it like that but its different! lol

Hey everyone, boy I have been super busy with Midterm exams! sorry I am late with my December Daily!
My Day 8 was a sad one because it would have been my big brother's 53rd birthday! He died at the age of 49. I thought of him all day, He was the oldest of my 3 brothers. He had a heart of gold and I miss him so very much! :( Therefore, I am just adding his picture for my day 8!

My Day 9 I went to Costco and picked up my pictures, came home and worked on my December Daily, had some hot cocoa , cookies and relaxed!

Welcome to Day Seven my December Daily! It was rainy, windy and cool in NYC. I played hooky from my externship, I just didn't feel like getting soaked wearing my dress slacks and shoes. So, what did I do all day you ask? Well, I was productive and typed up a 4-page paper for one of my classes. After that, I lounged around in my pajamas and watched some of my favorite Christmas movies! I baked some pork chops, my honey made some mixed veggies (that he seasons so well) and we just ate and relaxed while it rained heavily outside. So, as you can see not much to document, it will be like that on occassion with me, but hey that's my life! December Daily Day Six

Hey everyone, welcome to my day six of my December Daily! Nothing much happening today, it was rainy and dreary out and I really didn't want to go to school, but I had my Psychosocial Midterm Exam! Today, I am just going to show my cute "Charlie Brown" tree all lit up!
I have this artificial tree that's suppose to be 6feet but since I am almost as tall ( 5'5" on a good day LOL) I don't think that is true. I have had this tree for years, its a bit on the anorexic side and all the ornaments are from the dollar store, but I LOVE IT just the same. I named it my "Charlie Brown Tree" because it reminds me of the scrawny tree from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". I put up a tree every year and will continue to do so every year even with my son all grown up, I love looking at my tree all lit up at night. It makes me HAPPY! and that is more important than what's under the tree to me. Remember its not about the gifts, its the spirit and love that makes the greatest memories! Happy Holidays!

December Daily Day Four and Five

Welcome back everyone, my weekends usually consists of the same things grocery shopping, hair, nails and movies or tv! This weekend was no different. My honey and I did our usually trip to Costco which is in walking distance, on the way home there is this big house that always decorate for the holidays, so I snapped a couple of pictures with my phone (which didn't come out too shabby considering its not a fancy I-Phone or whatever). I used Picasa 3 and Picnik to put a few effects like to soften the photos some. I am very happy with the results!

Sunday is my kinda lazy days of doing my hair (which takes about 5 hrs, with a few short breaks) and nails all while watching movies and t.v. It doesn't matter how many times I watch a movies, I will watch it again (i.e. Hope Floats)! Of course you have to balance it out with a lil Homicide and watch The First 48! Love that show! December Daily: Day Three

Hey everyone, welcome to my Day 3 of my December Daily! I was energized and channeling Martha Stewart today hahaha. I decorated my tree, baked cookies( as you can see by the pic, I also make some ice cream sandwiches with the cookies....YUM!), worked on my blog and of course my DD! I love Saturdays, just laying around watching movies (yesterday was Hope Floats and Man on Fire) that I have seen a MILLION times! I also worked on a paper bag mini album with some leftover Christmas paper!
I really am loving the process this time around of my December Daily, because I am really just taking it day by day, only concentrating on key things I want to document. I love using Picasa 3 to make collages to document some of the many things I want to share. Some days I will probably only have one picture to share, which will probably be my LAZY SUNDAYS! Hey everyone, Day 2 of my December Daily: I had an English Comp. 2 midterm exam. Once I got home all I wanted to do was distress! So I headed to my happy place (my scrap table) I finished one of the many Christmas gifts I need to make. Initially, I was going to finish the mini, then put up my Christmas tree, but all I manage to do was pull it out the closet LOL. I was in bed by 10pm, exhausted! December Daily: Day One

Welcome everyone, to my December Daily journey. I will try my best to upload a picture and a little about my day that I will include in my December Daily. I will be printing my pictures out probably every two weeks or so, depending on how busy I am. I usually use Costcos Photo to print them, I find it more economical.
My Day One, consisted of 2 midterm exams (yeah what a great way to bring in the holiday season lol), College Math (which is very painful for me) and Psychology (way too much info for my brain to obtain). So, I was extremely tired after school (classes from 3-9pm), I wanted to take pictures of the store windows since my school is located right on W.34th St., but it was so crowded I just didn't have the patience. As I was walking to the subway, I snapped a picture of the Macy's department store with my cell phone. I also snapped pics of the subway and added Internet images to represent my exams. I made a little collage since I took a few shots!

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas!

Hey Scrappers, so I was actually able to make and complete a super easy and cheap holiday decoration this weekend! I made a coffee filter wreath, I found a tutorial on Youtube. It was probably $5 to make! I bought the ring from Michael's for $1.99 and the rest of the things were 40% off at Michaels, except the coffee filters, which I bought at the dollar store! Hello Ladies, I know what you're thinking, its not even Thanksgiving yet and Kay is already thinking about Christmas. Well the reason I am, is because I plan to try my hand again at doing a December Daily this year. Its actually going to be an all-in-one December Daily/Junk Journal/Organizer! So in preparation, I have gone to the source, Ali Edwards for some idea and inspiration. Yes, I know what you are thinking....Another Junk Journal? LOL. I am still on the junk journal bandwagon and don't see myself getting off anytime soon. They are so much fun and stress-free! I use up scraps and old and loose paper collections that have just been taking up space. This journal is a tiny bit different from the others I've created, it will be majority journaling. I feel like I need to write down my ideas, thoughts and feelings, I need some insight and reflection. My life has taken another unexpected turn and I am feeling burnt out and unmotivated. I have been filling this journal with quotes to inspire, encourage, and uplift me! I will share on My Youtube Channel some of the less personal entries. I am so inspired by a couple of ladies on Youtube and they are Yoliebean, Bcdoula and Shellyb140 these ladies are great and I love watching their JJ videos. I was inspired to make this one by Shellyb140, she did a fall/gratitude journal really cool check it out!
What I used to make this journal were: the covers are recycled cardboard, and the papers are multiple collections that have been sitting forever in my stash. I used papers that are dark and fall-like to stay with the theme. I will share on my video of this JJ, what types of things I plan to include and how I store all the goodies that I have readily available to use in my journal. Those of you who know me, know I don't care for SUNFLOWERS, but my girl Anna F. gave me these sheets of paper from Tim Coffey's fall collection (from last year I think) and they have sunflowers on it. I actually didn't mind them too much and actually really liked the paper I used for the front & back covers. So thanks Anna girl!

Hey Ladies, well my 3rd semester is over and I am so very happy about that. I have to honestly say, that my grades were not very good this time. I went through alot this semester and it was difficult to stay motivated. Next semester is my last and I really need to get my grades back up!

I have been crafting (probably when I should have been studying more lol). I sent out and received my junk journal from my partner Darlene and really liked it! I decided to put all the cards and tags that I received from my scrappy friends! I am truly OBSESSED with junk journals now and have made a few and have plans on making at least 2 more ( a love junk journal and a christmas one which will be a December Daily as well). I started a new junk journal last night it is a Fall/Gratitude junk journal where I plan to do alot more journaling, adding a lot of inspirational quotes, recipes for Thanksgiving and pictures of course! I have assembled it already and will begin journaling today. I altered one of those wooden dressforms and made it into a pincushion. I have also recorded myself making 2 quick&easy recipes from ground turkey. So, I hope you enjoy all the things I have done and hope to bring more projects for you to see, I have 10 days to scrap to I drop, before school begins again. Hey scrappin peeps, I wanted to host another swap and since I have been obsessed with junk journals, I said why not host a swap (I also keep missing when other people host one LOL). This is an eazy breezy junk journal swap! Its titled "use what ya got" because that's what you need to do, get all your scraps and leftover paper collections that's collecting dust and make a junk journal! This way you make room for new paper! LMAO. Rules and guidelines are simple. This swap is open to all scrappers (yes that means international too, so if you are not interested PLEASE do not comment).
1. Journal does NOT have to be bounded with a cinch or bind it all, rings can be used (ask your partner if they wish it to be binded before you bind it with a binding tool, because they may want to add pages or move papers around).
2. This list is the MINIMUM you can add more if you like!

20 pages (can be all the same size or diff sizes, include blank cardstock for journaling)

4 tags (can be homemade tags) stamped

2 envelope pockets

add tabs (how many? ask your partner, you can make or buy tabs)

chipboard covers for front & back (can be recycled just make it sturdy)

What's Cookin' In Your Kitchen Recipe Box Swap!!!

Hey Scrappers, I wanted to host my very first swap and I hope you all will join me! The swap will be an Altered Recipe Box Swap! It will be a small group of 10 (including myself). There are 9 spots available. This will be on a first come, first serve basis, so the first 9 people plus 1 spot for a swap angel in case someone backs out (which I hope won't happen). Here are a few rules and guidelines:

1. EVERYONE is included in this swap! Which means international scrappers, so if that is a problem for you, please do not sign up!
2. All swaps must be done ON TIME unless otherwise indicated and agreed upon with your partner. PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PARTNER!!!
3. Please put in what you want to receive back from your partner, it takes alot of time and money to do these swaps, so please be considerate to your partner.
4. You can either make a box (please make a sturdy one) or alter a store bought box (like you get at Micheal's). Include sections w/tabs with the following categories: Appetizers, Soups&Salads, Vegetables&Sides,Pastas&Breads,Desserts,Beverages,Main Dishes, Miscellaneous. The recipe box should be large enough to comfortablely hold 6x4 recipe cards, please use flat embellishment on the cards so that there is lots of room for the cards! Your box should include the following: 1 Tabw/category, 2 Blank recipe cards, unless you have your own recipe in that category, in that case you need to only add 1 Blank recipe card. If you chose, you can add more its your choice! You can go crazy embellishing the box!
5. You must include AT LEAST4 of your own recipes in one of each of the categories (unless your partner suggests otherwise). Please communicate with your partner in discussing the recipes for example: I do not eat beef, therefore I would ask my partner not to include a beef recipe.
6.If this swap is successful, then future swaps will just be a recipe card swap until our boxes are full!
7. You have exactly ONE MONTH (the date will begin when partners are chosen) to fulfill your obligation for this swap! If for ANY reason you cannot fulfill that obligation please contact myself AND your partner ASAP!
8. You can include a wallet sized picture of your recipe somewhere on the recipe card also, if you have additional recipes post them on your blog or send an email to the group! we will love to try your delish recipes!!! (OPTIONAL)
Once we have our 9 people and at least one person for our angel swapper, I will close the swap and chose the partners randomly (probably putting the names in a hat and having someone pull the names) lol

"Life's A Smash"

Hey Scrappy Peeps! Now that I am off of school for 2 wks, I have time to embark on some projects. Kathryn from life on the scrapbeach is having a Ustream class teaching us how to put together our own Smash book. I am so excited about this, because I so loved putting together my travel journal and wanted to do something similar (with less pictures) for my everyday life.....Now here's my chance! I didnot run out and purchase new paper and embellies for this project, I went through my stash and pulled some DCWV Mariposa and K&Co. Que Sera Sera and if needed I will grab more papers I have left over. I am titling mine "Life's A Smash"!....get it? Smash book.....Life's a smash? ok anywayzzzz, I grabbed some stamps, embellies, tags from my jeans (yes that's right) and will include anything and everything else I can find! I will post a video of my preparation for my Smash book (as soon as I get a new battery for my camera). Kathryn is doing a travel theme Smash book, using the DCWV Trade Winds paper collection. The class begins on Thursday June 2nd @ 2pm-4pm and 9pm-11pm Eastern Time (Kathryn has this great Time Zone Converter to assist you, isn't she the BESTEST?). Hey Ladies, hope you all had a great Mother's Day and National Scrapbook Day! I spent 12 hours on Ustream with the AMAZING, Laura (followthepapertrail), Gina (scrappinology), Kathryn (desdishaedo), Yolie(yolibean), Roxy(roxyfur). It was a fun time, I got some projects done, joined a few challenges such as Kathryn's Challenge #1 (to create a Mother's Day theme layout) I created this 8x8 layout of me and my beautiful mom, I was about 6 or 7 yrs old in this picture, I chose to put it in a shadowbox so I can display it on my wall!

My Cali Trip!

Hey Everyone, so let me first apologize for taking FOREVA to post about my trip to Cali. I have been super busy catching up on school work I missed while I was gone. So first let me thank Lety and her husband Will for welcoming me into their beautiful home and showing me a good time. I was very happy to meet up with one other Cali girl Anna Fallas! She was so much fun and crazy cool, I wish we had more time to spend with her. I will definitely have to make another trip to the west coast and hook up with the rest of my Cali girlz.

So, as some of you know this was my second time on a plane (first time I was a kid)and yes I was nervous! So tuesday night, I got home early from school and thought I would come home and take a tap before we had to go to the airport. Unfortunately, I could not sleep, by the time my mind and body unwind, it was time to go to the airport! NYC public transportation was excellent at 2:30am, which we were extremely surprised by. Once I got on the plane, I was EXHAUSTED, I slept from NYC to Kansas City where we had a short stop, then slept some more half way to California. Once I got off the plane I felt good. Lety picked me up from the airport and we went to get some much need coffee and had lunch. Then it was off to shopping (to see my goodies I purchased from Cali check out the video).

I woke up the next day with a head cold, so it put a lil damper on my mood, but I still tried to enjoy my time there. On Saturday, we went wine tasting with Vanessa Bryant (another Beach Babe), we had alot of fun. It was my first time wine tasting and i learned a little about wine. I definitely must go again! I did some sightseeing with Lety and her hubby, California has beautiful scenery! The beaches are AMAZING and CLEAN!!!! lol Anywhoooo, if you want to see more pics, check out my facebook page, also I will be uploading my travel journal video as soon as it is stuffed with all the pics and goodies! COUNTDOWN TO CALI!

Hey Everyone, as you all know I am headed to California in 10 days!!! Woooo Hoooo....This is my 1st REAL vacation (without my son). I am so excited and nervous since I have only been on an airplane once as a kid. I am so SUPER excited to hang out with my girl Lety! Hopefully, I will be able to hang out with my other Cali peeps: Anna, Cass and any others who want to get together. So, I was inspired by CindySMS and Hidilley on Youtube to create a Travel Journal. I started it last weekend and finished it today. I want to start my journaling early on April 1st to document my excitement and preparation for my departure. I am going to try to post a couple of videos before I go titled "Kay's Countdown to Cali". It will probably only be one or two because I have midterm exams the week I leave, so I have alot of work and studying to do, but I will at least get one video up! Anywhooo, check out my latest video of my travel journal and let me know what you think. I used a recycled cereal box from Costcos to make the album! Ok, I'm tired its after midnight! Where Did The Time Go?

Where did the time go? As I look UP at my son, who just turned 18yrs old on St. Patrick's Day (Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day to those who celebrate), I ask myself, when did this happen? How is it that I have to look up at YOU, when just yesterday you were looking up at ME....with those big beautiful brown eyes. My baby boy is all grown up now and its a bittersweet feeling! I am happy that he is soon out of the house, but sometimes....just sometimes, I long for my little Stink Winka (hahahaha,he would kill me if he knew I told you his nickname as a child). I am so very proud of my son, he has come a long way, though he still has a journey ahead. I ask God to please always walk with him and keep him safe, to remind him to always listen to that inner voice (which is You) , to always stand up for what and who he believes in and always remember he is LOVED!!! This is my prayer (the short version....hehehe) for my one and only, my heart, my everything....my Evan!

Weightloss Journey Week One!

Hey Ladies, this is the first week of my weight loss journey and I just wanted to update you on how its going so far. I started yesterday, ate breakfast (veggie omelet w/turkey sausage and coffee of course). I didn't have lunch because I got up late (after 9am), so I went to Target, came home and had an early dinner of turkey meatloaf and salad. I later snacked on fresh strawberries! The picture you see is what I had for lunch today, its Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup and a turkey&muenster cheese whole wheat wrap (2slices of turkey 1 slice of cheese, 1 ww wrap cut in half). My Last Sinful Meal!

Hey Ladies, I have decided to start my weightloss journey on Sunday! Why you ask? Well for one I needed to do some healthy food grocery shopping, two I had to write down options for me to eat everyday. I know that sounds crazy, but how my crazy mind works is, if the option of what to eat is not in my face, I either will skip a meal or eat something I have no business eating! LOL. I also want to put together a weightloss scrapbook mini/journal thingy to track my progress. I am no good at just journal writing, because I will either forget to write in it or think too much about what to write! LOL. So, I decided to do a combo, some days when I have something to say, I will write it down, other days I will put pictures or do nothing....no pressure!
So, today is Saturday, its 11:47am and no I haven't had any breakfast, only coffee....I know you don't have to say it! lol I am going to feast on my fav breakfast meal of pancakes & turkey sausage with lots of syrup and a cold glass of 2%milk (which I have been drinking forever)! I will start my video blog tomorrow, at least I will try. So, until then have a wonderful Saturday!

WEIGHT JOURNEY!

Hey Ladies, so you know I just finished my 1st semester in college! wooo hooo and I finally got all my grades: 4 A's, a C and a S (satisfactory in math cause its a pass/fail class). I am so very proud of myself, I worked really hard and sacrificed alot! It got me to thinking about my weight issue, *sigh* I know I can do it, because I lost over 40lbs a few years ago! So, I am getting back on the band wagon and joining Sparkpeople, which is like a social network site. I joined before, but couldn't remember my username,password or email I used, so I had to make a new account LOL. So, if you want to follow my progress and/or want to join me, I enclosed my link! I need all the support I can get! I'm not trying to lose an excessive amount of weight, because I love my curves! I just want to fit comfortably in a size 16 jeans! I am a size 22 now! Oh yeah, aint no shame in my game girlfriend! LOL. The most wonderful thing is my honey is so supportive and is joining me in my weightloss journey! Hey Ladies, sorry it's been a while since my last post. I was so busy getting my term papers done and studying for final exams. I had to drop out of Marion's 31 Day Challenge because I had no time to anything but study! Well, I am on a break for 2wks and I couldn't be happier. My last final was suppose to be Friday, but since NYC had a major snow storm and schools were canceled, I have to go in on Tuesday to take the exam that was suppose to be given Thursday. Other than that and having to register for next semester I am FREEEEEEE!!!!!
Soooo, here is my plan for my break: I am going to start the Beach Babe album, try to make a couple of albums to sell here on my blog and of course work on some of my unfinished projects! I will be literally attached to my table! LOL

Hey Ladies, just wanted to update you on what I have been up to lately. I am participating in Marion Smith's 31days, 31 videos, 31goals, challenge! My mission is to complete the unfinished projects that have accumulated over the months. I am the Queen of starting a project and not finishing it. So, I figured this challenge is a good way to motivate me to GET IT DONE!!! I have also joined Kathryn's new group @ Life on the Scrap Beach, she named it UNFINISHED PROJECT JUNKIES!, so far, I have completed 2 mini albums and I am almost finished the 3rd, so I am happy that these ladies have motivated me to stop procrastinating and complete them! I have to admit some days when I get home from school, I don't want to work on anything, but since I am a woman of my word, I drag my tired self to my table and work on something. I don't have to complete a mini in one day, if I just work on one page, its fine, because one day that one page will be the last page! So follow me on my journey and give me some encouragement cause I so need it!

COUNTRY/COWGIRL MINI ALBUM COMPLETE!

Hey Ladies, sorry I have been MIA! Just wanted to update you on what's been going on with me. I was commisioned to do a mini album for a friend's daughter. It was very challenging but fun! My friend Tanya and I met over 3yrs ago on Myspace, we haven't met in person, but we chat all the time. Her daughter and my son are the same age and birthdays are a week apart. Tanya is from Texas and of course I am a New Yorker, so its crazy that we are friends LOL. Her daughter Kourtney is a lover of horses and she wanted me to put together an album for her. Kourtney didn't want anything too girly, so it was a challenge, but I think from what I know of her through her mother, I was able to capture her personality. I uploaded a video on Youtube if you want to check it out, and here are a couple of pics (the quality isn't very good cause I had to take it with my laptop). Tanya saw the video and she said she loved it and it made her cry, but Kourtney wanted to be surprised, so I hope she likes it! I have done a bit of scrappin here and there and manage to be asked to make a special album for a friend's daughter. This will be my first commissioned album and I am super excited and nervous LOL. First Day of School

Hey Ladies, just wanted to share with you what my first day of school was like. I went early to the bookstore since my classes start in the afternoon. When I got there the line wasn't very long and it only took like 10 minutes!!! So, I had time to lug my heavy books home and grab a little breakfast before my classes started. I only had two classes yesterday and they were ok, a bit boring since only a couple of us got our books already. The professors were cool. There are alot of young people in my classes and I can already tell a few won't last, one already got caught texting and the other sleeping LOL. So, for the most part it was a good day! I added some pics to show you what my scrap table looked like before school started and how it will look from now on, piled with books :(

Hey Ladies, just wanted you to know I am still around. My internet did get disconnected, but I have a great hot spot so all is not lost and I won't be admitted to the insane asylum anytime soon, due to lack of internet! LOL. God willing my financial issues will be resolved if not by the end of this week then next week! I want to thank all of you for being so sweet and supportive. Your prayers are welcomed so please keep them coming, cause Lord knows I need them! I have a new video up on Youtube which took me forever to upload because my internet kept getting disconnected, but I finally got it up. I made alot of thank you projects for you ladies who sent me RAKS and as soon as I can I will be mailing them out! I have been keeping busy making projects and if I can get the OKAY from my doctor, she will let me go back to work as a home health aide. If not, then I will have to continue the job hunt. I have a feeling she's not going to take me off restricted duty, for those of you who don't know, home health aides can't work with restrictions because we are sometimes required to lift the patience. Might Be MIA for a Bit!

Hey Ladies, just wanted you to have the heads up. I might be offline for a while. I am having some money issues and my Internet service maybe disconnected like my cable was today. I am hoping my financial situation will be resolve soon. I am going back to work as a home health aide as soon as I can get in to see my doctor for a physical and take the test to be re certified. I really didn't want to go back to being a home health aide, I was injured 3yrs ago going above and beyond my call of duty as a home health aide. Unfortunately, this is the only job that I can get right now, no one is hiring and my financial situation is getting worse. So a girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do right? I have been through a lot worse, so don't worry about me! I know God will make a way, he always does! I might be able to get a hot spot in my apartment, go to the library or cafe to get online, but somehow I will stay in touch and get my Youtube fix LOL. I might not have many videos up for a while, depending on my connection. So, with that said, DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA! LOL. Challenging Myself! Join Me!

Hey Ladies, so I have been watching alot of YT videos of ladies using their scraps to make beautiful minis and tags. I have done the same but have not made a dent in my scrap bag LOL. So, I have challenged myself once again to make as many minis,tags,altered things as possible with just the scraps in my bag! I am going to try not to use too many flowers unless they are cut from my scrap papers! I have also alot of ribbon scraps I want to use up as well. I will post a picture and video of each completed project I make from my scraps only!!!! So come on ladies, I want to challenge you as well to use up your scraps to create beautiful things! I would love to see so post a picture on your blog and leave me a link! I have posted pics of my scrap bag and ribbon scraps, so you can see what I have to work with. Hey Ladies, as you all may know, I didn't make the design team over at Flamingo Scraps, and although I am bummed, it won't stop me from trying out for future design teams. I am a strong believer in everything has its time and place in life and so its not my time. Like I said before, I am proud of myself for going for it and it gave me the confidence I need to pursue other design teams. I also plan to do some challenges in the future as well. So, although I am a bit bummed, I am also motivated to work harder and continue to put my work out there, my time will come!

I submitted these pictures of a few projects that I think represent my style, whatever that is LOL. I'm bummed because I don't have a camera to take good photos and I don't think my webcam does my projects justice. Hey Ladies, I just wanted to share some pics of the canvas layouts I showed on my YT video. I really love making them, they are quick and easy. The purple is me&my baby boy and the other is my beautiful mommy, She will always be missed! I am going to be making a few more to hang on my wall. I am trying to get back in the swing of things, lost my mojo for scrappin lately. Between the extremely hot weather (no AC in my scrap area) and my back acting up, I haven't been in the mood. I want to say congrats, to my son Evan, who was awarded 7 certificates at school! I am so proud of him, he has come a long way. He was awarded student of the week for 19 straight weeks and Most Improved Student (which was given only to one student) of the year award, among others. I have seen a big change in his attitude,behavior and maturity. Unfortunately, I didnt have a camera to take pictures, but I was the Proud Mama standing and cheering the loudest when he went to collect his awards! I Love You Son!

I wanted to say congrats to my boyfriend's daughter Simantha, who graduated from Preschool. Although, I wasn't able to attend (her mother and I aren't exactly friends LOL), I was able to buy the outfit she is wearing. My boyfriend said she loved it, and looking at her pictures of her posing in her dress, I can tell she really did! I have truly been blessed to have her in my life, she is a joy to be around and I am enjoying watching her grow! I can honestly say I love her to pieces!

Hey Ladies, just wanted to share with you another canvas I created for my son. Having him away is hard sometimes and peaceful other times LOL. We haven't always had the best relationship once he became a teenager, but its getting alot better. When I look back on his pictures when he was younger, there isn't one with him and I together. That is mostly because, its always been just him and I , so there was no one to take the picture. I of course didnt have a laptop then. So, I want to make it my business at least once a year to take a picture with my son, because I want him to remember when I am gone, the times we had together, both good and bad. I believe, you can't truly grow as a person until you deal with your past and let it go, so you can open yourself up for new experiences, without all the useless baggage! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADDIES! I want to take a minute and celebrate all the dads who are doing their thing, taken care of their children the best way they can. It's sad that the good daddies don't get the same credit as moms do. We go all out for Mother's Day,there are commercials so much hoopla about moms and that's cool, hell I'm a mom and I deserve praise LOL. But, there are so many Wonderful dads out there who are AMAZING fathers and they don't get the same appreciation as moms do. So, to all the dads especially my man who is a WONDERFUL father, I want you to know, you are appreciated, loved and respected. Especially those who have daughters, like my baby, she won't have the same issues as some of us women do who grew up without a father and or who father wasn't a good one. Your daughter will know her worth and respect herself and won't take no shit from men who only want to use and abuse her! I am a woman, so I believe that as women, we should support one another, uplift and encourage one another. If I know of a job opening and think you might be interested, then I'm gonna tell you about it! If there is a sale going on and I know you would appreciate the savings, I'm gonna let you know! If I am trying out for a design team and I think you may be interested too, then I'm gonna let you in on the skinny!
I AM AND NEVER WILL BE A HATER! I AM OR NEVER WILL BE JEALOUS OF ANOTHER WOMAN! And you can take this line whatever way you wish, but those who know me, will know exactly where I am coming from. Hope to Be Better For My BDAY!

Hey Ladies, well as you may or maynot know, I have Strep Throat. I went to the doctor on Monday and she prescribed antibiotics and cough medicine. So, I have no voice and because I use that voice to make a living these days, I can't work. I haven't been to work since Saturday, I am suppose to work Mon-Thurs and obviously on Saturdays. I gave them a doctor's note on Monday before my shift, but stupidly of me and my doctor, put I could return to work on Wednesday, what where we thinking IDK. Anyway, I have been leaving a voicemail letting them know I am not going to make my shift everday (hopefully they were able to hear me LOL). So, there is a possiblity, I might get fired! I am not going to worry about whether I will or won't, I put it in the hands of God and do my best to get well. I know this is by no means the job of my dreams and I know one day that job will come whatever it may be. So, enough said about that!
On Monday June 14th, I will be celebrating my 39th birthday (oh yeah and my big brothers birthday too, he will be 49,but who cares LOL), now back to me HEHEHEHE. I am hoping to be all better by then, I don't really have any plans, just don't want to be sick. I am scheduled to work that night though BOOOOOOOO. My honey is going to cook for me, which isn't anything special, because he cooks for me alot and I love him to pieces for it! I do plan on doing some SHOPPING!!!! buying a few gifts for myself, that will make me feel a whole lot better, especially if I get fired LOL. So, I just wanted to ramble today, thanks for stopping by!
Oh, I am considering trying out for More Paper Than Shoes Design Team, so wish me luck! The fact that I am willing to put myself out there makes me proud so whether I get it or not, I am proud of myself for just having the guts to do it! :)

Hey Ladies, I just want to take this time to thank someone very special, someone we all know and love.....Kathryn, the creator of "Life on the Scrapbeach" site. I know for myself, this place means so much, when I first joined, I felt like....Wow! I finally found a place where I belong, where I fit in. I have met so many wonderful, sweet and supportive ladies on "the beach". A few that have become close friends!
Any questions you may have simple or complex, these ladies are there to help. Especially, Kathryn who knows everything about everything and if she doesn't know she will google it and send you the link LOL. We all know she is an INCREDIBLE scrapbooker, but.... She is so generous, I mean when Ning decided to start charging for the use of there site, Kathryn and her hubby decided to create their own dot com site, so we won't lose "the beach", that is AMAZING to me. I don't even have the words to express how thankful I am for Kathryn. She is working hard to put together this site, Ustream, crops and so much more that I'm sure don't know about and ask nothing in return. I know I personally could not do all that she does successfully, so I appreciate her and Mr. Lifeguard for all they have done to keep "the beach" up and running. Thank you so much, I am truly grateful for all you do for us!

Hey Ladies, so I joined this mixed media swap and the theme was favorite movie, well I didn't chose my all time fav movie (that would be "The Color Purple"), but I did pick one of my favs. The movie is called Love Jones (a romantic-comedy)and its about this young couple, Nina who's a photographer and Darius who's a writer. It's a love story that has some of my favorite elements, jazz and poetry. So, in my little mixed media piece I tried to interpret the movie the best I could. If you don't know what the term "Love Jones" mean, its when you really have it bad for someone (like I have a love jones for my baby hehehe).If you haven't seen the movie, check it out, they have the entire movie on Youtube but its in like 10 parts lol, its an all black cast, but the message is still the same! Enjoy!

Ummmm Mixed Media....I Think?

Hey Ladies, so as you can see I have tried my hands at something new, Mixed Media....well I think LOL. I am still learning about what mixed media really is and what its suppose to look like. I have watched so many videos and omg there is some amazing talent out there. My favs are Racho113 and Heyjude, these ladies have amazing skills and I am in awe of their work. I love the way my tag came out and I find I am more confident in doing certain things like painting b&w images with distress inks. So let me take you trough what I did: First I use my Home Depot paint chip (you know how much I love using them) I covered it with white cardstock. I used acrylic paint in 3 colors and randomly swirled it around. I sprayed the entire tag and image with Pearl Glimmer Mist, I stamped and embossed (with kaliedoscope embossing powder) the soar butterfly stamp, I crumbled, adhered, and sprayed tissue paper with Olive vine, Vintage pink,Purple pansy and Moonlight Glimmer Mist. I used Cotton candy,Frosted lace and Baby blue Stickles on the border and on the images. I painted with TH Distress Ink in: Dusty concord,Broken china,Worn lipstick and her hair in Antique linen, I also gave her a lil lipstick with Brick glimmer mist and some blush with Worn lipstick and made her eyes blue with Broken china. I adhered some vellum under the butterfly, punched the lil flowers with a mini punch and use the same stickles on them, I painted the chipboard butterfly with Distress inks in Worn lipstick, Broken china and Dusty concord and paint over it with Rock candy crackle paint,I used a floral spray for the antenna (that I alcohol ink. The flowers are cut from the TH tattered floral dies with Que' sera sera paper and crumbled with a dragonfly bling in middle, oh in her hair are Prima baby roses that I brushed with Micropearl and water Pearl Ex, and I finished it off with some fibers. I will probably do a video explaining all of this soon but I want to do another tag and do them both in one. I had a lot of fun making this tag, though I know I have a longggg way to go, I am proud of myself for trying new things, I have to give Cass some props for introducing me to mixed media and encouraging me to step outside my box, so much love and thanks to my gurl! 12x12 Layouts!

This layout I did of my parents was sentimental, this is the only picture of have of them together. My parents were never married to each other, but I'm glad they got together for my sake LOL. I think my mom was so beautiful and elegant! She was very young in this picture, I am pretty sure I was not born yet. When I look at this picture, I wonder what their relationship was like, how it began, why it ended, guess I will never know. Although, I didn't have much of a relationship with my father, I cherish this picture of them. I titled it "Romance", because in my mind, they were at a jazz nightclub or probably a blues club because I know my father loved the blues. Anyway, I wonder lots of things about their relationship, and I hope that if only for a short time, I hope my mom was as happy as I am with my man now, because she definitely deserved to be!

This LO was so much fun, I inked the edges and crumbled the paper and flowers, glimmer misted, it was a good time! The title "Feelin Sexy" is what I was feeling when I took the pic, simple as that LOL. I know you ladies can relate,its okay to like what you see in the mirror!

My 1st Art Journal Entry!

I finally put together my art journal. I made it from scratch out of cardboard boxes and old jeans. I stamped and painted all over the cover and I like how it came out! I didn't do the back cover yet, but will post a pic when I do. I have never had an art journal before, but I have kept journals. Combining the two is challenging for me, but I am learning alot. My 1st entry is nothing special, because I don't draw,paint,or sketch, most of my entries will be mini layouts. I do want to try my hand at the traditional way of creating an art journal, it looks like loads of fun. I love getting messy with paints and inks, so I am excited about getting my hands dirty. I will be sharing alot of personal things in my art journal because I have alot of healing to do, so this is my way of dealing with issues that haunt me from time to time. I promise to balance out the pain and pleasure. I find art to be great therapy and I know as I create different things and dive into all aspects of art, I will learn things about myself I never knew existed. Some of you maybe touched by what I journal, some may be offended or even horrified, but its real talk, its me, its my experience, my life, my truth. So, if you can't handle it, feel free to move on to the next blog. I won't be making any videos of my personal journal entries because its not something I want to vocalize to the world, so with that said her is my first journal entry. The picture you see was taken by accident by me. I was taking pics of myself for my Myspace page and I use a mouse that I plug into my laptop when I take pics, so I must have clicked the mouse when I wasn't paying attention and the pic you see is the outcome. I think it shows some of what I was feeling at the time. My journal entry reads"
UNPRETTY....this is the title of this entry because that is how I was feeling internally. I was wearing a pretty mask, had lost 40+lbs, hair was looking fly,had a okay job, on the outside I looked like I had it all together. Inside, I was a HOT MESS! My relationship with my son was very dysfunctional, I had lost control of him and I felt weak and defeated. In all honesty, I just wanted to give up, pack my things and go, but how could I? Evan didnot ask to be born, he did not ask for the "father" he was given, the "father" who abused and abandoned him. He was a child, who was reacting to what had been done to him. Everyday, I prayed for strength and wisdom and everyday, I became stronger. I took back the control and made some very difficult,unpopular,unsupported decisions for my son and myself. Although, I knew in my head the choices I made were the right ones, my heart felt different. I had to not be selfish and do what was best for Evan and not what made me feel better or what my family thought was best. Because in the end it was just Evan and I we had to live it, no one else. It was a long road and the ride isn't over, we still have our issues, but we have come a long way. My life at that time revolved around Evan and work. After being in a 10yr relationship where I was lonely,unhappy and unsatisfied, the last thing I wanted was to get involved in another relationship. I lost myself in that relationship, I wasn't mistreated by him, I was mistreating myself because I was so caught up in what I wanted the relationship to be, that I couldn't or wouldn't see it for what is was. But, thankfully, I realized I deserve to be happy and I have no regrets, that relationship prepared me to receive the love,the happiness,the friendship,the commitment, THE MAN...that God have blessed me with!

Challenge#11 (Heart)

Hey Ladies, I wanted to share with you another challenge I completed for the NSD crop over at The Scrapbeach. In this challenge, you had to go back and do a past challenge that was your favorite. I didn't do this challenge in the past,but I loved it. I chose to do Feb.2010 Crop Challenge #4 (Love of My Life). I created this journal page for my art journal I am putting together (inspired by Cass). The Love of My Life is my boyfriend of almost 2yrs(next month is our anniversary!). The journal entry on the front are lyrics from an India Aire song called, "The Truth" it reads:
"Let me tell you why I love him....cause he is the truth said he is so real and I love the way that he makes me feel and if I am a reflection of him....then I must be fly because his light it shines so bright I wouldn't lie...."

The back of the page is a journal entry that reads:

Tai is truly the love of my life, how do I know? Because I prayed for him and God delivered. Nothing in my life besides the birth of my son, has ever made me feel this good, this right, this true. He is my rock, my protector, my lover, my teacher,my friend. No man has ever come close to fulfilling my every want,need and desire. He has showed me what real love feels like, even when I thought I would never open my heart up again, he opened his, and I was blown away, by his courage and his vulnerability. In that moment, I knew, I had lost the battle and was happy to surrender!

Challenge #6 "Mother's Day"

Hey Ladies, I wanted to share with you a tag that I did for the National Scrapbook Day Challenge on The Scrapbeach. The challenge #6 :"Mother's Day" was very hard for me, because my mom passed away when I was almost 17yrs old. I wanted to do a layout, but I was overwhelmed. This tag, will eventually be an entry in my art journal titled "Dear Mom...". I will write a letter to my mom saying all the things I need to say and release alot of feelings I have about her death and living without her. It doesn't matter if I win this challenge or not, I was just proud of myself to be able to complete it and hopefully in the near future, I will be strong enough to do not only a layout, but a mini album tribute.In loving memory of my mom, Shirley Shiloh June 1,1938-March 17,1988. Hey Ladies, so the lastest and greatest is Vintage! I tried my hand at it for the first time last night. I made a vintage tag for my scrapbuddy Karina. I googled Vintage Argentine Woman( Karina is from Argentina) and I found this lovely lady on the net.I thought it came out pretty good for my first tag and it inspired me to do more and to some day soon do vintage minis and layouts, so stay tuned!
The second and third tags are for me, I wanted some vintage woman that look like me LOL. The first one I'm not sure I like the way it came out, I don't know its so so, but the third, the woman with the afro...I LOVE IT! It's simple but I really love how it turned out. I just wanted to express my blackness and my naturalness (hair that is lol). So, I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think, honestly its the only way I can get better. Hey Ladies, I worked on a couple of layouts and I just wanted to share them with you. I did one of them while scrappin' via webcam with Lety, we had so much fun. Hey there ladies, so I was watching a video of Jules(The Jule Box) making dinner for her family, and Felicia also sent me a recipe mini album (that I love btw). So, I was inspired by these ladies to maybe combine the two. Make a my favorite recipes mini and possibly video myself while making them. What do you think? Is that something you are interested in seeing? My only problem is I don't know if my movie maker on my netbook can fast forward you know to speed up what I'm doing, I don't know I have to play around with the features and see what I can come up with. Let me know if this is something you are interested in, otherwise I won't bother, though I will still do the mini.
So yesterday, my honey and I cooked dinner. He did most of the cooking this time though. He made Oxtails, Rice&Beans with Octopus(ewwwwwww....I didnot eat that LOL) and I made Fresh String Beans and Potatoes, he also made a seperate rice without the Octopus(phew!). Hey Ladies, I just wanted to share with you the great day I had with my new scrapbuddy Karina. She leaves so close to me and she invited me over to scrap. We had a great time together laughing and playing around with the Cricut and new Tim Holtz dies. We didn't do much scrappin', but it doesn't matter, just having the company of someone who shares the same passion as you is good enough. Karina and I met on "The Scrapbeach" created by Kathryn, the ladies on that site are truly wonderful and if it wasn't for that site, I would have never met Karina, my new scrapbuddy and friend. Karina and I decided to take a picture everytime we get together and make one another a mini album. I think that will be so much fun. Hey Ladies, so as you may know, I am a member of "The Scrap Beach", first let me say if you haven't joined you need to. There are some seriously talented ladies there and most of them are so sweet. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or advanced scrapbooker, whatever these ladies can do to help, they will. It's a great community or women helping and supporting other women. So, with that said, I met this sweet lady named Karina, who lives in the same city as I, and she invited me over to scrap with her. I am so excited, its my first time having a scrap buddy! So, I made this card for her, I don't usually do cards, its not really my thing, but I guess I was in the mood today. I used cardstock, Making Memories Chloe's Closet patterned paper, some ribbon, lace and my famous $1 flower that I glimmer mist with Moonlight, it was originally white. What do you think? I also want to thank Victoria again for sending me the $10 Cropadile that was on sale at Walmart plus some extra goodies, she wouldn't except any money, but I have put together some goodies for her and will be sending it out soon! My 1st "Real" Tags!

Hey Ladies, I just wanted to show you the tags I worked on today. These are my 1st "real" tags. I have made tags before in mini albums, but nothing like this. I think they came out pretty good for my first time. Maybe with a little practice, I will participate in a tag swap! The flowers I used are from the dollar store, I used some glimmer mist. So ladies, search your local dollar stores for some good buys. I am going to get more tomorrow! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Ladies, well I am back online for good now, wooo hooo!!!! I went to buy my Netbook yesterday and so far I love it! It's small and takes some getting use to, but I love how light weight it is, so I can take it to my favorite coffee shop and not have back pain the next day. I am trying to do everything all at once, getting videos on Youtube, updating this blog, job hunting and so much more. I know I have to pass on the blog award and I will asap. Thanks to all of you who have hung in there with me, I really appreciate it. Update On My New Laptop

Hey Ladies, just wanted to update you on what's going on with my new laptop. Well, I went to purchase it over the weekend , but unfortunately the one I wanted was sold out. I was bummed but found a similar one, so I plan on buying it on Wednesday.
I did however, buy a new table for my craft area! I am thrilled with it and my baby went with me to get it, thank God because it was too heavy for me LOL. I am trying to decorate my little area, doing a little bit here and there. I will record a video when I get my new laptop.
